Dan Metroka helps clients navigate the problems that keep them up at night. Whether it's a government investigation, a complex lawsuit, or an internal whistleblower complaint, Dan works as a problem solver, advisor, and advocate to help clients tackle their most challenging and sensitive business threats.

His experience is both versatile and deep: he represents clients in a wide range of investigations and commercial disputes, with a particular focus on the life sciences, health care, and insurance industry sectors. He conducts internal investigations; defends clients in federal, state and local criminal and civil investigations; and litigates complex cases in federal and state courts, including class actions and multidistrict litigation.

As a member of our Life Science and Healthcare Industry Working Group, Dan understands the legal risks and threats facing pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies as well as providers and insurers. He has represented clients in internal and government investigations of alleged violations of the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, including matters involving allegations of "off-label promotion" and various theories of fraud.

Pro bono is also an important part of Dan's practice. Some of his pro bono matters have included representing a veteran in a hearing at the Department of Veterans Affairs involving claims for service-connected benefits; representing a domestic violence shelter in a hearing involving the shelter's actions to ensure the safety of its residents; and representing an African charity in a contract dispute involving one of its vendors.
