Ethics CLE: Ethical implications of remote working

In this summer ethics CLE webinar, our panel, featuring Vice President, Associate General Counsel, and Global Head of Litigation at 3M Courtney Enloe; Hogan Lovells partners Tom Connally and Jon Talotta; and Hogan Lovells senior associate Michelle Roberts Gonzales shared actionable insights on how in-house counsel can manage the sudden shift to mass remote working while continuing to comply with their legal ethics obligations.

Using hypotheticals, our panel provided their real-world experience and practical advice that in-house counsel can use to recognize and proactively navigate potential ethical pitfalls in:

  • Protecting confidential client documents and information at home, using cloud storage, and using video conferencing services.
  • Addressing privacy concerns on client calls and conferences outside the office.
  • Supervising remote team members.
  • Remotely managing internal investigations.
  • Managing remote depositions.
