Katie Dunn advises clients on a range of issues concerning commercial property. Katie is a specialist in the Building Safety Act 2022 and deals with disputes concerning fire defects, such as defective cavity barriers and cladding. Katie also manages claims concerning a broader range of base build defects and has recently advised clients on RAAC issues.
Katie works with both landlords and tenants and has vast experience of dealing with contract disputes, break options, consent applications, service charge disputes, dilapidations, nuisance issues, debt recovery work and contested and uncontested lease renewals. .
Katie regularly prepares blogs for the firm's Engage online page and articles for external publications.

Acting for owners and landlords in claims against contractors in relation to base build defects, including cladding claims.
TCG Pubs Limited (in admin) & Others v The Art or Mystery of the Girdlers of London [2017]: High Court action in relation to a contractual option.
Laindon Holdings Limited v South Essex Partnership [2016]: High Court action in relation to a terminal dilapidations claim.*
Acting for building owners in an appeal to the First Tier Tribunal to quash an Improvement Notices served under the Housing Act 2004 in connection with fire defects.
Acting in two applications to the Business and Property Court for permission to forfeit leases of prominent Central London commercial properties held by companies in administration.
Advising in connection with Building Safety Act 2022, including the duties of the Accountable Person and obligations in connection with Landlord Certificates and Leaseholder Deed of Certificates.
