London, 26 September 2022 - Global law firm Hogan Lovells has been awarded the ‘Health Creating’ accreditation in The City Mental Health Alliance’s (CMHA) annual ‘Thriving at Work’ assessment, the highest possible mark.

The CMHA’s Thriving at Work assessment helps organisations to measure and benchmark progress as they work towards building mentally healthy workplaces. It is set against the evidence-based standards in the CMHA Thriving at Work Guide, a framework to help businesses develop their mental health and wellbeing strategies. This year, the assessment was developed to include measurements related to how businesses were adapting to different ways of working, interventions to aid the prevention of burnout, and driving best practice across the eco system.

Penny Angell, UK Managing Partner commented: “The past few years and the associated changes to our daily lives have made for a challenging time for mental health. This accreditation, which we are delighted to receive from the City Mental Health Alliance, sits alongside the many preventative measures which we are taking to support our people, including our cohort of mental health first aiders and the introduction of The Thrive: Mental Wellbeing app for all our UK colleagues.”

Alison Unsted, CEO of the City Mental Health Alliance UK added: “The Assessment measures a very wide range of actions that employers have taken to build mentally healthy workplaces. Receiving the ‘Health Creating’ accreditation in the CMHA Thriving at Work Assessment is an outstanding achievement. It shows that this business is leading the way when it comes to employee health, and they are actually building workplaces that are good for people’s mental health. As we still feel the impact of the pandemic, get to grips with new ways of working and deal with the cost of living crisis, businesses must continue to prioritise the work that is protecting, supporting and creating positive mental health in the workplace. This is the right thing to do, and is key for retention, innovation and growth.”
