Digital bonds & DLT Pilot Regime .
As usual, the seminar will be held in our Frankfurt office but can also be accessed online on Wednesday, 29 March 2023, at 6.00 pm.
The digitalisation of capital markets transactions and in particular the issuance of digital bonds using DLT or blockchain technology is something many market participants look into. For a successful transaction there are not only technical and operational aspects, but also numerous legal considerations relevant. The respective legal framework is rapidly developing. With the EU’s Digital Finance Packaging the EU legislators has positioned itself at the forefront of these developments and the DLT Pilot Regime provides a sandbox tool in order to facilitate access to trading venues and central securities depositors.
Together with our guest speaker, Dr. Sebastian Plassmann, Senior Legal Director at Goldman Sachs, and our colleague, Ariane Mehrshahi Marks, Capital Markets Partner in our Luxembourg office, we want to discuss legal challenges and opportunities of the issuance of digital bonds and of the DLT Pilot regime.
As the other sessions of our HL Digital Finance Dialogues, this panel discussion will take place in our panoramic Frankfurt office (and alternatively online – but we hope to welcome as many of you as possible on site). The language of the discussion will be German.
