Fernando is the Head of the Regulatory and Energy practice in our Madrid office.
He is a State Lawyer (Abogado del Estado) on leave of absence and has extensive experience advising clients in regulatory, contentious and corporate matters in Public and Administrative Law, as well as in the private sector.
Before joining Hogan Lovells, he was working at an important international law firm, where he was working as head of the regulatory practice too.
He graduated in Law at the Complutense University in Madrid and he is recognized by the most prestigious international legal directories including Chambers and Partners, where he is ranked Band 1 in Spain in Energy & Natural Resources.

Continuous advice to AEE for the last 8 years as General Counsel
Advising ENSO in the creation of the largest cogeneration/biomass plant in Spain for 70 million euros
Advising Acogen, Cogen and ADAP (almost 20% of electricity generated in the Spanish market) in the European Commission's complaint regarding the impact of the exceptional measure of the Iberian market
Intervention in one of the most important litigation proceedings in the gas sector with a natural gas distribution company
Representation of a relevant industrial company in a contentious-administrative proceeding against a declaration of contaminated soils in Andalusia
Management of contentious administrative appeals against the improper updating of regulated costs. Coordination of all sectorial lawsuits and advice to more than 25 companies in the sector
Continuous advice to all types of companies on administrative procedures for the authorization of renewable energy installations, conflict resolution and possible liability actions
