David Gherdane specializes in advising on national and international infrastructure and energy projects, including PPP, on both project and financing issues. 

He has a special focus on wind (onshore and offshore) and photovoltaic projects. David has extensive experience designing and negotiating (FIDIC-based) contracts for the construction, delivery, maintenance and operation of infrastructure and energy projects, as well as financing contracts. His clients include all kinds of project stakeholders, in particular plant manufacturers, operators, sponsors, lenders and borrowers.

David Gherdane also has in-depth experience in advising insurers as institutional investors on insurance regulatory issues in asset management and in advising rolling stock finance.

Representative experience

Advising a contractor on the tender procedures and contract negotiations with regard to an HVDC grid connection system in the North Sea.
Advising a contractor in litigation procedures in connection with delayed completions of HVDC grid connection projects and defence of corresponding employers' claims.
Advising a contractor on the ongoing project execution for several HVDC grid connection projects including ongoing contract amendments.
Advising a contractor on the tender procedure and contract negotiation for a cross-border HVDC interconnector project.
Advising a turbine manufacturer on the tender/contract negotiations for subcontracts for the transport and installation part of an offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
Advising a manufacturer on negotiations for turbine supply and service agreements for offshore wind farms in Germany and Belgium with a capacity of approx. 800 MW.
Advising a manufacturer on contract amendments for supply and service agreements and on the ongoing execution of an offshore wind farm project.
Advising project companies on the contract drafting/negotiations for turbine service agreements for two offshore wind farms with a capacity of up to approx. 900 MW.
Advising the project company Merkur Offshore GmbH on the financing and further development of a 400 MW offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
Advising financing banks on the project financing of several onshore wind farms in Germany.
Advising an insurance company on its investment plans in several onshore wind farms with regard to the project contract and real estate law matters.
Advising an investor on EPC and service agreements for two solar farms in the United Kingdom.
Advising a cable manufacturer on the ongoing project execution for a grid connection project in the Baltic Sea.
