Matt Ducharme focuses his practice on commercial litigation and international arbitration. He has broad-based experience litigating a wide variety of complex commercial matters in federal and state court, including shareholder and creditor derivative actions, and class action RICO disputes.
Recently, Matt gained valuable experience as part of a trial team that won a complete defense victory for a clothing manufacturer in a high-stakes breach of contract case.
Before joining Hogan Lovells, Matt was an intern at the Department of Justice, Special Litigation Section. He also was an extern at a nonprofit organization where he assisted in litigating a First Amendment case that was pending before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Matt has diverse pro bono experience representing clients in eviction proceedings in housing court, as well as child support cases in family court. He has also helped a victim of domestic abuse file a petition seeking permanent resident status in the United States.
While in law school, Matt was a member of the Georgetown Law Journal. He also participated in Georgetown's Institute for Public Representation Clinic, where he litigated employment discrimination cases under both federal and state law.
