Food and Drug Law Institute’s Food Advertising, Labeling, and Litigation Conference

Hogan Lovells counsel Veronica Colas will present at the Food and Drug Law Institute’s Food Advertising, Labeling, and Litigation Conference on 27-28 September.

Veronica’s session will explore what FDA has proposed, an updated definition of the term “healthy,” on food packages and issued a new draft guidance on dietary guidance statements for food labels. She will provide an update on both initiatives, offer perspectives on what the final versions should look like, and discuss FDA’s legal authorities related to these initiatives. Her fellow panelists will examine recent cases where implied healthy and “health-halo” claims are being challenged, and predict how new and potentially clearer FDA guidance will impact future litigation.
