Four Hogan Lovells attorneys spoke at Space Law Symposium 2024

Four Washington D.C.-based Hogan Lovells attorneys, partners Alexis Sáinz, Arjun Garg and Stephen Propst, along with senior associate George John, spoke at the American Bar Association’s Space Law Symposium 2024. The industry conference was held at Hogan Lovells in our Washington, D.C. offices on 4 June 2024.

Alexis Sáinz moderated the panel titled “Global Satellite Constellations”, including topics related to satellite finance, insurance, regulatory and commercial matters. The panel featured speakers from Amazon’s Project Kuiper, Rivada, the Federal Communications Commission, Willis Towers Watson, and US EXIM Bank.  Alexis serves as the Co-Chair for the ABA’s Committee on Space Law, under the auspices of the Air & Space Forum, the group that organized the Symposium.

Arjun Garg was featured as a panelist on the “In-Space Liability: From the Earth to the Moon” panel moderated by Michael Dodge, Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director and alongside representatives from AXA XL, the FCC, and NASA.

Stephen Propst was featured as a panelist on the “Export Controls for the Space Industry” panel and George John was featured as a panelist on the “Lunar Resource Utilization” panel.

The Space Law Symposium brought together professionals from industry, government, and academia to discuss the latest developments in space law and policy. This year, the Symposium covered a diverse set of topics with an emphasis toward efforts to foster a lunar economy.
