What we do

Our Tokyo-based team of approximately 40 lawyers (including both bengoshi partners, and international law partners qualified in multiple jurisdictions such as England & Wales, Ireland, New Zealand and California) provides domestic and international clients with a broad offering of legal services in relation to outbound and inbound matters. We provide tailored, innovative legal and business solutions, built on sector-leading ideas that are informed by our international presence and perspective.

Independent surveys of Japan-based law firms regularly cite the excellence of Hogan Lovells Tokyo's corporate/mergers and acquisition practice and our intellectual property practice, especially our international trademark practice in Japan and our top-tier patent practice. We have also been consistently ranked in the top tier for our market-leading Life Sciences practice, which combines science, law and cultural interpretation in the provision of legal services to our Japanese and international clients.
