Anne Salladin named to Foreign Investment Watch's Top Advisors 2024 List
Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Anne Salladin, a partner in the International Trade and Investment practice, has been named for a fourth consecutive year to Foreign Investment Watch’s (FIW) “Top Advisors 2024: Latest ranking of the top global CFIUS experts.” Read more about the list and methodology here.
The list, which considers a variety of criteria such as experience, reputation, and clients serviced, ranks the top attorneys who provide legal advice concerning national security reviews of foreign investments in the United States and abroad.
FIW notes that Salladin, a repeat member of the top advisors list, served for nearly two decades in the Office of the Assistant General Counsel for International Affairs of the Treasury Department, which provides legal advice to the Secretary of the Treasury, who chairs the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Editors note Salladin “has been involved in myriad transactions filed with CFIUS, and has represented companies before CFIUS in the pharma, defense, semiconductor, and other industries.” Additionally, Salladin’s Q&A interview remains “one of the most widely read interviews” ever published with FIW.
Hogan Lovells’ CFIUS practice advises foreign investors seeking to acquire ownership interests in U.S. companies across various sectors, such as life sciences, telecommunications, biotechnology, data and cyber security, energy, aerospace and defense, artificial intelligence, and robotics. The seasoned team includes a deep bench of lawyers with extensive, practical experience handling CFIUS and associated security reviews, including former government lawyers who understand the opaque inner-workings of CFIUS and have actively managed all types of CFIUS transactions on behalf of buyers and sellers in the most sensitive countries and industries since the law’s onset in 1988. In addition to Salladin, Hogan Lovells’ team includes a former Special Assistant to the U.S. President for Trade, Associate Counsel to the U.S. President, and U.S. Trade Representative General Counsel, many of whom were engaged in the CFIUS process during their government service.
The International Trade and Investment practice has consistently achieved top-tier rankings in the legal directories Chambers and The Legal 500. In the Chambers USA 2023 guide, Anne is described as “one of the only lawyers in private practice today formerly with Treasury with experience providing legal advice on CFIUS matters to the Chairperson of CFIUS.” Additionally, the International Trade and Investment practice has been hailed by Chambers as “the first port of call for many when it comes to trade remedies and policy issues, ably handling overseas matters given its extensive global footprint” and by The Legal 500 for its “ability to provide strong legal counsel but also strategic advice.” As a Tier 1 International Trade practice, The Legal 500 also noted the practice’s “excellent understanding of both public and private sector perspectives coupled with expertise across numerous practice areas.”
