Press releases | 30 September 2022

Led by Frankfurt partner Torsten Rosenboom, global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised GP JOULE EPC GmbH & Co. KG, a GP JOULE Group company, on the sale of its North American photovoltaic EPC business unit to GOLDBECK Solar GmbH. The transaction includes GP JOULE PV International GmbH & Co. KG and its subsidiaries in Canada and the USA (GP JOULE PV Canada Corp. and GP JOULE PV USA Inc). The parties have agreed not to disclose any details regarding the purchase price.

GP JOULE has become a leading provider of solar EPC solutions across Canada and the northern US states since launching its North American EPC business in 2011. Since 2014, over 200 megawatts of solar parks have been built in the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia and the US states of Minnesota and New York. The North American EPC business has a pipeline of more than 500 megawatts. However, GP JOULE now wants to focus on the European market and is transferring its North American EPC business to GOLDBECK.

GP JOULE Group was founded in 2009 and is a system provider for integrated energy solutions from sun, wind and biomass, as well as a supply-level partner for electricity, heat, hydrogen and electromobility. GOLDBECK Solar GmbH is a company specializing in the turnkey construction of solar plants.
