James Doyle, Hogan Lovells’ Global Corporate & Finance Practice Group Leader, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Matt to the firm. As part of our global Private Equity practice, he will work closely with colleagues across the firm, and is an important strategic addition to our growing U.S. transactional practice.
Maria Durant, Office Managing Partner for Boston, added: “Matt is a tremendously talented and highly-regarded practitioner in the Boston community and his addition, which follows that of transactional partner Alex Aber announced last year, further strengthens our corporate capabilities in the market and the growth of our office in Boston.”
Matt joins the firm from Locke Lord and has extensive experience representing private equity and venture capital firms, investors, and private companies in a broad range of acquisition, financing, and other business transactions. He works across a broad range of industries including Energy, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Technology, all of which are sector strengths of Hogan Lovells. In addition to his busy practice, Matt currently serves as the Vice President of the Boston Bar Association and dedicates a significant amount of time to pro bono activities in the Boston legal community.
McTygue said: “I am extremely excited to bring my skillset to the firm and to join the Hogan Lovells’ Corporate and Finance practice in Boston at an exciting stage in its growth. The firm’s global reach and unparalleled industry expertise allows me to support all aspects of my clients’ most complex transactions, wherever they are.
Matt began his career in Boston at Palmer & Dodge (the predecessor to Locke Lord through a variety of mergers) having obtained his JD from Cornell Law School.
