Hogan Lovells partners named among Latin America's Top 100 Female Lawyers by Latinvex

São Paolo, Miami, 29 October 2021 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that partners Isabel Costa Carvalho and Maria Eugenia Ramirez have been named among Latinvex’s Top 100 Female Lawyers for 2021. 

The list is selected by Latinvex editorial staff, with this year’s Top 100 selected from 63 different firms based in the United States, the UK, Canada, and Bermuda. The criteria for  selection was a combination of factors, including recent track record on major deals and business, prominence of firms in Latin America and rankings.

Isabel Costa Carvalho is the Office Managing Partner of our São Paolo office, and is one of Latin America’s most prominent capital markets, M&A, and white collar and fraud investigation lawyers. She has assisted more than 50 companies on international equity fundraisings, and countless more on debt issuances. With Brazil currently experiencing a surge in initial public offerings (IPOs), Carvalho’s practice is experiencing demand not seen since 2007. In 2021, she has led on six IPOs successfully listed on Brazil’s B3 exchange and more recently on a US$750 million senior notes offering and concurrent tender offer by Banco do Brasil.  

Maria Eugenia Ramirez has been with the firm since 2002, and played a crucial role in the foundation of our award-winning International Arbitration practice. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Ramirez represents a broad range of international clients with a focus on Latin American disputes. She handles international arbitration matters in both English and Spanish before the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association (ICDR), the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), among others.
