Hogan Lovells transactions recognised at the PFI Awards 2023

Global law firm Hogan Lovells is delighted to announce that two matters it has advised on were recognised at the PFI Awards 2023. PFI magazine is one of the leading global project finance journals and their annual awards are considered a highly prestigious accolade by the industry.

The winning deals include:

Asia-Pacific Offshore wind deal of the year: Hai Long.

Led by Hamburg partner Dr Christian Knütel, global law firm Hogan Lovells advised Northland Power Inc. and Yushan Energy Company Ltd on the development of the 1,022MW Taiwanese offshore wind farm Hai Long. Hai Long has now reached financial close of its approximately EUR 3.4bn (TWD 117bn) financing. Hai Long will play an important role in helping the Government of Taiwan achieve its renewable energy target of 15 GW of offshore wind to be constructed by 2035. Once operational, Hai Long will be one the largest offshore wind facilities in Asia, and provide enough clean energy to power more than one million Taiwanese households. Europe Deal of the Year: Baltic Power.

Led by partners Carla Luh on the finance side and Christian Knütel on the project development side, global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised the borrower on the signing of a credit agreement to secure an equivalent of approx. EUR 4.4 bn (EUR 3.6bn of term facilities and 0.8bn of ancillary facilities) in 20-year term non-recourse project financing for Baltic Power offshore wind project, owned by joint venture partners ORLEN and Northland Power. The Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm will be the first ever to be built offshore wind farm in Poland. Read more about the deal here.
