Laura Penaranda brings a client-centered focus to our litigation, investigations, and employment teams. Balancing a strategic and rigorous approach, Laura takes the time to understand her clients’ businesses and challenges. She helps clients navigate complex legal issues and prioritizes delivering comprehensive and practical solutions.
Laura started her career with Hogan Lovells as a summer associate in 2020. While at the firm, she has been actively involved in pro bono matters with an emphasis on children’s rights issues. She has aided local clients through the adoption process and helped a child seek special juvenile immigration status.
In law school, Laura honed her advocacy skills and passion for human rights as a research assistant and student attorney with the International Human Rights Clinic. She worked with grassroots organizations to bring attention to racial justice issues in the U.S. at the international level and submitted a report cited by the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights in their recommendations to the U.N. Human Rights Council advocating for law enforcement reforms. She also investigated and drafted a legal report examining human rights abuses in the context of the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon and assisted in preparing an amicus brief to the Supreme Court of the United States on behalf of torture survivors.
