Volunteers Help Ensure Students Heading Back to School Have Necessary Supplies

This summer, a team of volunteers in our Washington, D.C. office filled nearly 500 backpacks with essential school supplies and donated them to local schools in need. The office raised funds to purchase the backpacks and supplies through a jeans day, game of bingo, gift card raffle, and a "pledge-a-pack" drive, which allowed people to donate $10 for a backpack and enclose a card for the student. Close to 40 volunteers then worked together to fill the backpacks with the much-needed school supplies before sorting them for delivery. Another team personally delivered the sacks to Glassmanor Elementary, Barner Elementary, Brooklyn at Bunker Hill Elementary, and William Paca Elementary - all in the Washington, D.C. area - where they received heartfelt thanks from grateful teachers and students.
