With 20 years of professional experience, Ana Paula Rumualdo is considered an expert in the areas of privacy and data protection, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and information technology. Clients appreciate the approach she brings to addressing technology-related issues, as she fully understands the technical language and has the ability to provide risk-focused analysis, always seeking to keep clients out of regulatory contingencies. In particular, Ana coordinates multi-jurisdictional projects where she focuses on providing clients with clear and concise results.

Ana is a pioneer in the field of legal artificial intelligence in Mexico, having started lecturing and teaching AI since a decade ago; Ana has provided advised on AI matter to a major retail company, a major search and advertising company, an AI developer, and an international bank, among others; she has also advised a generative AI company on a privacy investigation in Mexico. Currently, Ana heads the Digital Technologies Area at Hogan Lovells Mexico.

Ana has given numerous training courses and conferences on privacy and data protection, and cybersecurity.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells in 2018, Ana was a partner at a boutique law firm.

Advising a generative artificial intelligence company during a personal data protection investigation. 

Ongoing advice to a major retail company on personal data protection issues, including privacy by design prior to the launch of new features, as well as advice on proceedings before the local DPA.

Advised a major search and advertising company regarding data protection implications derived from the operation of machine learning models.

Advised Chanel in the implementation of a personal data transfer model; coordination of the project at Latam level.

Advised TelevisaUnivisión on personal data protection matters, including complex requests related to data subject rights. 

Advised Disney+ and insurance companies during investigations before the local Data Protection Authority.

Advised Vitesco on personal data in the context of internal investigations.

Advised an agribusiness client on the implementation of a global data transfer project: project coordination in Latam, Africa and South Asia.
