Leia Scott advises clients on a broad range of corporate and securities matters, including securities law compliance, corporate governance matters, public debt and equity offerings, and private placements. She regularly counsels public companies on their ongoing SEC reporting obligations and compliance with the latest regulatory demands and industry practices. In addition, Leia advises companies and their boards and/or committees on complex governance matters, shareholder interactions, strategic transactions, and other special situations.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Leia was an associate in the Chicago office of a prominent national law firm, where her practice centered on distressed assets and creditors’ rights in the commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) and bankruptcy and insolvency space. She previously spent time in Washington, D.C., as a Student Honors Program intern at the SEC as part of its Division of Enforcement.

Leia received her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2020, where she was a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council, served as president of the Black Law Students’ Association (2018-19), and upon graduation, received the 2020 Dean’s Leadership Award in recognition of her extraordinary achievements and service to the student body and local community.
