As the Co-Chair of our global environmental practice, Scott Reisch focuses in three principal areas: contamination issues, commercial transactions, and compliance counseling.

Scott's contamination practice includes brownfield redevelopment, voluntary cleanups, and litigation under federal and state cleanup statutes, such as Superfund/ the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). Scott has helped clients on brownfield projects across the country, including in Colorado, Georgia, Montana, New York, North Carolina, and West Virginia.

Scott heads the firm's transactional environmental practice and regularly advises clients on environmental due diligence, provisions in purchase and financing agreements, and environmental insurance.

Scott counsels clients in the resource, pharmaceutical, and agriculture industries on a range of environmental issues. He represents clients in state and federal enforcement actions, manages environmental audits, and negotiates voluntary self-disclosures with state and federal regulators.

Scott is a frequent lecturer and author on environmental topics, including brownfields and environmental audits. He previously chaired the environmental section of the Colorado Bar Association.

Scott is a graduate of Stanford University and Stanford Law School, where he was notes editor of the Stanford Law Review.

Represents an apartment REIT on a voluntary cleanup in Indiana and in challenging effort to list the site on EPA's National Priorities List.
Defending a large telecom company in an enforcement action by California's Attorney General that alleges mismanagement of electronic wastes.
Defended former shopping center owner against allegations that it was responsible for cleaning dry-cleaner contamination that occurred in 1960's.
Defending a reverse distributor against allegations by California prosecutors that our client illegally managed hazardous wastes.
Represented the developer of the Pepsi Center in a voluntary cleanup of what is now the home of the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche.
Advised Orbital Sciences on environmental issues arising from its US$5bn acquisition of ATK's Aerospace, Defense and Government Services business.
Represented PPG Industries on environmental issues in its US$2.3bn acquisition of Comex, an industrial and architectural coatings company.
Defended Rexair against claims that it violated a clean-up order, and won a multimillion dollar award of attorneys' fees.
Advised DLH Holdings, a health care services contractor, on its US$70m acquisition of Social & Scientific Systems, a public health research organization.
