Communications, Internet, and Media

Communications companies today face challenges that are interconnected and often global by nature. Competition is growing, and the regulatory environment is ever changing. And the industry is increasingly reliant on cross-border transactions subject to regulations at multiple jurisdictional levels.

To deal with these and other matters, you need a legal partner that is just as interconnected with a globe-spanning network. Our international team of lawyers combines their knowledge across a range of practice areas into a single integrated approach. This, combined with our extensive sector experience, enables us to anticipate problems, develop strategic responses, and handle national and international disputes.

We work with network operators, service and content providers, media companies, equipment providers, and government bodies, and offer an impressive range of services. Our regulatory lawyers advise on spectrum auctions, licensing, and allocation; consumer protection; the Telephone Consumer Protection Act; regulatory compliance; security issues; procurement; and antitrust. Our commercial lawyers advise on multijurisdictional licensing projects, lease and network use agreements, interconnection agreements, and other commercial transactions.

Content licensing and branding agreements are handled by our intellectual property practice, while our technology lawyers advise on metering and billing technology and on information technology outsourcing. We also advise on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances, handling both the corporate aspects and the associated regulatory and competition approvals.
