Suzanne Hill helps corporate groups and investment funds create tax efficient business structures. She works closely with corporate and real estate experts to put tax at the centre of project structuring, so as to produce the most practical and flexible business arrangements for clients.
In the Funds sector, Suzanne advises on tax aspects throughout the fund lifecycle, from creation, through on-going management, to termination. Her experience in setting up and advising on carried interest arrangements means she can assist in ensuring managers' and investors' interests are aligned.
In corporate and finance transactions, Suzanne assists clients in achieving clear allocation of tax risk and responsibilities. Tax disputes is an area Suzanne's practice has expanded into, giving her broader experience of how the tax authorities act at different stages of interaction with taxpayers.
Representative experience
Advising a life assurance company on its entry into, and ongoing participation in, a joint venture with a developer for residential property development.
Advising banking entities on a variety of finance leasing issues.
Acting on acquisitions and disposals of interests in project finance and infrastructure deals, including in the investment funds context.
Assisting UK corporates in dealing with disputes with HMRC.
Advising Threadneedle Asset Management Limited on the creation of the Low-Carbon Workplace Fund.
Client secondment to Vodafone's group tax team.
Acting for large fund sponsor on creating and managing variety of real estate funds, including work on cross-investment, carried interest arrangements and fund terminations.
