Christina is an associate with experience in advising financial institutions, technology providers, startups and FinTech companies on their legal and regulatory risk, technology projects and digital solutions.

Christina has experience in a variety of areas including advising on regulatory developments relevant to emerging technologies in the context of financial services, outsourcing arrangements, licensing and servicing agreements, cloud computing, as well as relevant in-house experience. Christina's primary focus area is in the blockchain and digital assets space as part of the Hogan Lovells Digital Assets and Blockchain practice. 

Representative experience

Advising cryptoasset service providers in relation to their compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and registration requirements from UK and EU perspective 

Advising a financial instutition on the regulatory risks of implementing a crypto-as-a-service business model from a UK and EU perspective

Advising on and drafting contracts with respect to IT services and outsourcing arrangements for financial institutions both in the UK and internationally

Advising a range of entities including a non-custodial wallet provider on the UK's financial promotions regime in relation to cryptoasset promotions

Advising a cryptoasset exchange company on various regulatory matters including anti-money laundering regulatory challenges and cryptoasset wallet structuring arrangements. 

Advising the policymaker of a foreign jurisdiction on the drafting of new cryptoasset legislation

Advising an international bank on the EBA compliance framework and reviewing the bank’s contractual arrangements with its major service provider from the EBA perspective. 

Advising a large software company on the minimum required contractual provisions under the European Banking Authority’s Outsourcing Guidelines from the vendor perspective.

Advising a large technology provider on the contractual requirements under the EU's Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).

Advising a digital assets platform in regulatory and commercial matters relating to its expansion into the UK market. 

Advising players in the decentralised finance (DeFi) space on regulatory issues from a UK and EU perspective.

Advised on FCA engagement with respect to registration requirements for cryptoasset service providers, and enquiries from the FCA's enforcement team relating to authorisation requirements under FSMA.

Advised a global financial services entity on the UK regulatory landscape with respect to novel retail-facing digital payment instruments (e.g. stablecoins, tokenized deposits).

Advised a major bank on regulatory developments relating to artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), including providing tailored updates to a financial institution's contract templates.

Advised a major technology provider on regulatory developments with respect to "Big Tech" firms from a financial services and competition perspective in the UK and EU.

Drafting and negotiating (for a major financial institution) the arrangements for the provision of credit information as part of the development of a new digital offering by the institution.
