Employment Law Developments in 2023

In the absence of an Employment Bill, the government is using Private Members’ Bills to advance its agenda and introduce new or extended employee rights. There are now at least six such Bills progressing through Parliament, apparently with government support, with little fanfare or publicity.

In this webinar, the Hogan Lovells UK employment team will highlight the key features of those Bills and discuss what else is on the horizon from an employment law perspective in 2023, including:

  • The proposed duty to take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment;
  • Re-introduced protection against third party harassment;
  • Changes to the flexible working framework;
  • Enhanced protection against redundancy for pregnant employees and those returning from family leave;
  • New family friendly rights to carer’s leave and neonatal leave; and
  • Cases before the courts that may impact on employee rights during the year.
