European Green Deal
Green Competition
Following the UN2030 deal and the Paris climate agreement, the European Green Deal has been presented by the Commission as a growth strategy aiming to make Europe the first climate neutral continent by 2050.
However, companies engaging in Sustainability and ESG face competition concerns. For example, there is a potential conflict between competition rules and sustainability goals where companies collaborate with the aim of accelerating the pace of change to support ESG development.
In this webinar we will explore:
- How competition authorities across Europe are enforcing European competition law in cases which present sustainability issues.
- The tools available to enforcers and regulators to take into account sustainability concerns when it comes to behaviours which are likely to fall under the competition law scrutiny.
- Dr. Dirk Middelschulte, Global General Counsel Competition, Unilever
- Dr. Cristina Volpin, Competition Expert, OECD
- Karima El Sammaa, Global Senior Antitrust Counsel and Compliance, GE Renewable Energy
- Massimiliano Kadar, Deputy Head of Unit, DG Competition, European Commission
