As a partner in our Real Estate group, Gill McGreevy is acknowledged as a leading individual, with extensive experience across the spectrum in her field. She is known as a straight talker with a no-nonsense approach. Her practice spans all aspects of commercial real estate, with particular knowledge of and skills in development and regeneration projects, retail and leisure asset management and strategy and property investment.
She also has a focus on real estate aspects of borrower-side financing and renewable energy schemes. She builds strong client relationships and works as an extension of the teams with clients and their consultants. Combined with her broad legal experience, her emotional intelligence helps her to understand clients' needs and anticipate issues, to which she is adept at finding practical, commercial solutions.
Representative experience
Advised KCCLP on various aspects of the £2 billion King’s Cross Central mixed use redevelopment project.
Advised Prudential on the structuring and transfer of its interest in Bluewater into a Jersey Property Unit Trust ("JPUT").
Advised Shaftesbury in relation to the set-up of a joint venture with Mercers to facilitate the phased reconfiguration and refurbishment of St Martin’s Courtyard scheme.
Advised RWE Supply & Trading GmbH on its acquisition from Alcan Aluminium UK Limited (Rio Tinto) of Lynemouth Power Station, Northumberland.
Advised Thorpe Marsh Power on the acquisition on a 18km gas pipeline in Yorkshire.
Advised Shaftesbury on the real estate aspects of its fund raisings and continuing asset management.
AdvisedWR Berkley Corporation on the acquisition and subsequent disposal by competitive tender of a central London office investment.
AdvisedWR Berkley Corporation on aspects of its redevelopment of a prime City office building.
Advised Cornwall Council on the real estate aspects of its refinancing of the Cornwall Waste PFI project.
Advised Ford Motor Company Limited on the disposal of various surplus UK land interests and on a proposed redevelopment scheme.
Advised Argent on its JV with Manchester City Council (Argent's first step into Manchester and partnering with MCC) lease and development agreement on One Piccadilly Gardens.
Advising Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited on the real estate aspects of the £337m ownership swap between thecentre:mk, Milton Keynes and The Friary Centre, Guildford.
