Marlan Golden helps clients in heavily regulated industries turn complex problems into an effective litigation strategy. He handles administrative and commercial disputes involving the life sciences, health care, pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer industries.
Marlan concentrates his practice on helping clients challenge or defend federal agency actions under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) and on other grounds. His practice cuts across many different disciplines, including administrative law and procedure, civil procedure, constitutional law, food and drug law, health law, and environmental law.
Marlan has worked with clients facing disputes involving the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other administrative agencies. He has briefed motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, and other critical motions in federal courts.
Marlan earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2019, where he was a finalist in the Ames Moot Court Competition. He began his career at Hogan Lovells as a summer associate. Before rejoining the firm, Marlan clerked for Judge Rossie Alston on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
