Chambers & Partners 2019, Administrative and Public Law

Julia helps clients to influence and change their legal and regulatory landscape.  Working at the intersection of business and government, she has a broad public law and policy practice, advising both public and private sector clients from a wide range of industries, including energy, financial services, pharmaceuticals, telecoms and transport.

Julia has particular experience of working with innovative businesses on the unique challenges that they face. A qualified solicitor-advocate, Julia works with clients all the way from constructive engagement with law and policy-makers through to judicial review challenges before the courts. She has significant experience of acting for clients in high-profile and complex judicial review challenges.

Julia also advises government bodies on making robust legal and policy decisions.  During her time at Hogan Lovells, she has been on a secondment to Ofgem, to help them with the implementation of a new government scheme to encourage the use of renewable energy, working closely alongside the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Clients describe Julia as being “a very bright and enthusiastic adviser who shows passion and flair for her area” (Chambers 2019).  She is particularly praised for her commitment to working as hard as it takes to achieve their objectives, as well as her “easy manner and good approach to delivering advice in a business-friendly way” (Chambers 2020).

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Julia worked for a Member of Parliament in Westminster.
