Senior Associate Martin Schunke focuses on advising national and international companies on the negotiation and implementation of complex M&A and private equity transactions, as well as restructurings.

Martin Schunke is part of the Hogan Lovells Corporate / M&A practice group. He specializes in advising on international transactions, with a particular focus on negotiating, structuring and executing corporate transactions, competitive bidding processes and intra-group restructurings. In addition, Martin Schunke advises on a wide range of general corporate law matters, in particular, regarding joint ventures and cooperations.  

Martin studied law at the Humboldt-University of Berlin. During his legal clerkship at the Berlin Supreme Court of Appeal, he worked for various international law firms in the areas of M&A and corporate law in Munich, Berlin and New York.

Representative experience

IBM on the global separation and reorganization of Kyndryl Holdings, Inc., its managed infrastructure services business, prior to the spin-off of Kyndryl into a separate publicly traded company.

Advising Daimler on its global IT carve-out to Infosys.

Advising PTC on the acquisition of Intland Software.

Advising Tengelmann Ventures, High-Tech Gründerfonds, Bayern Kapital and various business angels on the sale of their majority stake in the software start-up Metoda by way of a secondary transaction.

Advising a Danish manufacturer and designer of home furniture on the acquisition of a majority shareholding in a German furniture online platform.

Advising HV Holtzbrinck Ventures on a €60m financing round of Solarisbank.

Advising British American Tobacco Group on investment in Sanity Group.
