Hogan Lovells advises international lending consortium on over EUR 1 billion data centre platform financing for maincubes

06 March 2023 – Led by partner Carla Luh, a cross border team of global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised a consortium of banks on a facility agreement of EUR 1.035 billion for Frankfurt-based data centre operator maincubes. The EUR 1.035 billion is made up from EUR 685 million committed facilities with a further EUR 350 million uncommitted accordion.

Founded in 2012, maincubes operates data centers at the leading internet exchange points of Frankfurt and Amsterdam, and is currently in the process of planning and building new facilities, with an emphasis on scaling operations in Frankfurt further and establishing a presence in the rapidly growing market of Berlin. The datacenters will meet the growing demand for data center services in the region and will provide customers with the highest levels of security, reliability, and connectivity.

The new debt facility will further accelerate maincubes’ sustainable growth strategy to become a leading European data center operator.
