With more than a decade of extensive experience in legal practice, Julia has assisted and represented clients in wide-ranging complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters. Her practice mainly focuses on international arbitration, project-engineering-construction disputes, and court-driven restructuring and bankruptcy process. She has a strong track-record in the enforcement of foreign arbitration awards actions.
Julia has handled numerous cases accumulating a wealth of experience in advising and representing clients across a number of different industry, including energy and natural resources, petrochemical, infrastructure, telecommunication, and financial services sectors.
Representative experience
Acting for a subsidiary of state-owned petrochemical company in two parallel arbitration proceedings under BANI Rules brought by its main contractor amounting to over US$30m in EPC contract disputes
Acting for a subsidiary of well-known global technology company as a creditor in the court debt restructuring process of an Indonesian-listed and bigest steel company
Acting for an Indonesian energy company in an SIAC arbitration on a claim brought by a leading FSRU provider in respect of issues arising out of a guarantee agreement amounting to over US$100m.
Acting for 18 syndicate lenders as secured creditors in the court-debt restructuring process of an Indonesian palm-oil refinery company with a bad debt of over US$100m.
Advising an infrastructure conglomerate on the enforcement of an over US$18m UNCITRAL arbitration award against an Indonesian company concerning the development and operation of a bulk terminal.
Advising an Indonesian construction company on multimillion-US$ damages arising from the confiscation of mining area by the Attorney General due to ownership by an individual convicted of corruption.
Successfully defended a multinational conglomerate before the district court over a third-party claim concerning funds used to purchase aerospace products in a truncated state-owned company's project.
Acting for a well-known Indonesian petrochemical company on a successful settlement with its main contractor in respect of multimillion-US$ claims and counterclaims arising from two EPC contracts.
Conducting an internal investigation for a UK-listed global oil and gas company on its Indonesian subsidiary company concerning potential misconduct with respect to the third party vendor engagement.
