Malcolm is a counsel in our Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects practice. He is an experienced transactional EPC and projects lawyer with deep experience advising public and private sector clients on major transactions and regulatory developments in the UK and around the globe. His work focuses on ‘first of a kind’ complex transactions in heavily regulated markets, and in particular global game-changing projects providing innovative solutions to overcome global challenges such as the climate crisis.
Ranked as a “Leading Associate” by Legal 500 UK, Malcolm has particular experience in the nuclear energy and defence sectors. He also has significant experience advising on energy transition and renewables projects, especially those with a major technology component.
Malcolm also lectures on the prestigious Construction Law & Dispute Resolution MSc at King’s College London, is a founding member of our Business and Social Enterprise (HL BaSE) faculty, and is a key member on our ESG Alliance board.

A List X defence contractor on £multi-billion nuclear-power related defence programme, including on a joint venture with MoD and others.
UK Meteorological Office on the £multi-billion ‘first of kind’ procurement for supercomputing as a service delivered through the world’s most advanced weather supercomputer.
Alstom on the €12.4bn sale to GE of its power and grid businesses and establishment of JVs in the grid, renewable and nuclear sectors.
Alstom-Drax-BOC in relation to the UK Government’s CCS commercialization program to deliver an innovative 'first of a kind' end-to-end carbon capture and storage solution.
Multiple international contractors and technology suppliers on development and construction of various aspects of offshore wind farms, interconnectors and other energy transition projects.
A blue chip contractor on multiple contracts and bids for work on the UK nuclear defence estate, including on setting up their internal procedures and processes in respect of nuclear risk
A world leading quantum computing company on its collaboration with the STFC to open the first UK-based research facility to develop advanced cryogenic systems for large-scale quantum computing.
A world leading nuclear AMR technology provider on establishing a presence in the UK market, including setting up JVs with market participants, nuclear regulatory issues, and obtaining gov funding.
Appointed as the only English private practice lawyer on the FIDIC Task Group to develop a new standard form of FIDIC contract specifically designed for offshore wind farm projects.
