Julie Schwartz focuses her practice on Privacy and Cybersecurity. She assists and advises clients on any kind of privacy-related matters and understands their needs in various sectors and industries. In particular, she provides clients with assistance for their GDPR compliance, including drafting internal policies and privacy impact assessments, implementing binding corporate rules, handling litigious complaints and requests from data subjects, assisting in case of data breach, drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, etc. Julie also assists clients during CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) dawn-raids (online, documents based and on premises) and ensures follow-up with the Authority.
In addition, she has solid experience in providing Privacy training to clients, including training of Data Protection Officers (DPO). Julie writes on a regular basis articles and papers for professional specialized journals in French and English.
Before joining Hogan Lovells, Julie was an associate in one of the most respected French "boutique" lawfirms focusing on Technology matters. She then joined the Paris office of a global law firm where she continued to develop her practice in Privacy and Cybersecurity. She also previously worked as a paralegal for a US lawfirm located in New York City.
Representative experience
Assistance of numerous French-based companies and European affiliates, in particular of US-based and Japan-based companies, for their GDPR compliance.
Training of several Data Protection Officers (DPO), assistance for the conception of their data governance and their internal data protection actions.
Assistance of clients further to data breach for notification to the competent authority and information of data subjects.
Assistance of French companies in the banking, aeronautic and automotive sectors for drafting and negotiation of their subcontracting agreements to the GDPR.
