Based on 10+ years of experience in complex cross-border investigations and compliance matters as well as in M&A transactions, Christian Ritz supports his clients in the high-risk and constantly evolving areas of Antitrust & Competition as well as Compliance & Investigations with a particular focus on ESG matters. In particular, Christian's practice focuses on representing his clients in dawn raids and providing them with strategic guidance and legal advice in global cartel and white-collar investigations, incl. internal investigations. Christian represents his clients in cartel damages and competition litigation.
He regularly guides his clients through multi-jurisdictional regulatory clearance proceedings (merger control, FDI, and FSR) and advises on international cooperation agreements between competitors.
Focusing his practice on ESG-related advice in the area of antitrust, compliance, and investigations, Christian advises his clients on ESG Compliance and Supply Chain Due Diligence. He regularly advises on the development and implementation of compliance and risk management systems to comply with ESG-regulations, incl. of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (SCDDA/LkSG), the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
