Edward Newport trained with Hogan Lovells and qualified into the London Real Estate practice in March 2013. Edward acts for a variety of property owners, such as M&G Real Estate, Friends Life and Land Securities, as well as retailers and corporate occupiers, such as News UK and American Express. Edward acts on a broad range of commercial property transactions including leasing and management work (acting for both landlords and tenants), sales and purchases, development and investment work. Whilst training with the firm, Edward was seconded to ExxonMobil.

Edward has been heavily involved in developing the firm's new Hub platform for sharing, storing and presenting client information and documents. He has also assisted with the development of the Model Commercial Lease.

Representative experience

Assisting the Prudential Life Fund on the purchase of a portfolio of 46 light industrial estates for £140m from Europa.
Assisting on News UK's pre-let of and relocation to The Place, London Bridge.
Assisting on CMS Cameron McKenna LLP's pre-let of and relocation to new London Headquarter offices.
Advising M&G Real Estate on a number of purchase including offices and mixed use properties in London, industrial properties in Hayes and offices at Surrey Research Park.
Advising Aviva and Friends Life on a number of sales including mixed use and office properties in central London and retail parks.
Advising M&G Real Estate, Landsec, Aviva, American Express and BMO Real Estate on a variety of office and retail lettings.
Advising on a variety of day-to-day management transactions in both retail and commercial properties and acting for landlords and tenants.
Advising Landsec on their hotel investment portfolio including disposals and acquisitions.
Advising City and Council of Swansea on the development of Mariner Street.
Advising Aviva on the refurbishment and letting of 8 Bloomsbury Street including a letting to The New York Times.
Advising Calthorpe Estates on the regeneration of New Garden Square, Birmingham
