Josh Gelula advises clients on international trade and investment matters, including export controls, economic sanctions, customs and foreign investment reviews conducted by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Josh focuses his practice on issues under the jurisdiction of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, U.S. sanctions laws, and U.S. customs regulations. He has significant experience assisting companies in designing, auditing and enhancing their trade compliance programs, particularly as it relates to supply chain compliance, export controls, sanctions, customs valuation, tariff classification and post-entry reviews. His specific transactional guidance and compliance program assessments, designs, and implementations are informed by his diverse experience as in-house counsel for an international telecommunications company and as a global trade consultant in a large international accounting firm. He frequently works with clients as well as corporate and regulatory colleagues on export controls, customs and CFIUS-related due diligence reviews and/or filings related to corporate M&A transactions.
