Sherry‘s practice focuses on data privacy and cyber security, government regulatory, commercial contracts, foreign direct investment, and employment. She has advised many multinational companies in cross-border transactions and matters, especially in the telecommunications, media, technology (TMT), finance, life sciences, and education industries.
She has extensive experience with in-depth knowledge of the TMT industry in China. She is familiar with the legal needs of our information and technology clients, having advised extensively on a wide-range of matters in this sector including complicated market entry and regulatory issues, and industry-specific licenses. She is also an expert in data privacy and cybersecurity, third party payment license, and ecommerce. She helps clients implement data privacy and cybersecurity compliance programs under CSL, DSL and PIPL.
She serves as a core team member of the firm’s technology and telecommunication industry sector group and leads the firm in relation to its role in the Information Security Management Working Group of the National Information Security Standardization Technical Committee ("TC260 Committee") in China since 2020.
She is known for providing practical advice that addresses the commercial realities of our clients and offers constructive and innovative solutions to meet their business needs.

Advising a well-known China social media platform on launching its Apps in the U.S., Europe, APAC and Latin America, counseling on regulatory, cybersecurity, data privacy and commercial agreements.
Advising an international investment bank on PIPL and DSL issues, including revising the data processing agreement with Chinese partner and data localization & cross border data transfer restrictions.
Advising a leading foreign bank on its PIPL and DSL compliance project and cross-border data transfer issue.
Advising a global food manufacturer on personal data and cyber security law compliance programs under GDPR and PIPL.
Advising a major U.S. medical device company on personal data and cyber security law compliance programs, including counselling data localization and cross border transfer restrictions.
Advising a leading U.S. healthcare product company on personal data compliance program under CSL, DSL and PIPL, as well as governmental security assessment for data exportation issues.
