Insights and events
Franz Hackl advises our clients on national and cross-border restructuring and insolvency proceedings of all sizes. In particular, he focuses on all aspects of national and international restructuring and insolvency law as well as on the relevant matters of corporate and financial law. He also advises on complex financing transactions.
Franz has already worked several years for one of the leading insolvency administrators in Germany and thus has been involved in a large number of insolvency proceedings. He therefore has experience both in the operational management and restructuring of companies in special situations and in the investigation and enforcement of insolvency related claims. In particular, he is specialized in enforcing and defending against insolvency related voidability claims and claims against the management and shareholders of insolvent companies. A further focus of his work is the comprehensive advice in (distressed) M&A transactions on sell-side and buy-side as well as the structuring and drafting of contracts, especially to prevent and hedge against insolvency related risks or to implement restructuring concepts in insolvency proceedings already filed for. Finally, Franz is supporting our clients also in developing and implementing insolvency and restructuring plans.
Franz has published several articles on restructuring and insolvency law topics. He received his doctorate from the University of Heidelberg in 2023 with a thesis on the statute of limitations for culpa in contrahendo and similar compensation claims.
Franz is also a lecturer at the annual symposium for insolvency and employment law at Tegernsee.
